Who We Are?

Our History

SPOCI is one of the nation’s leading Christian faith based national humanitarian organizations, committed to helping children and families amongst the most vulnerable communities improve their lives and achieve lasting victories over poverty and suffering. Founded in 2014 and legally registered in February 2016 with the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) of the government of South Sudan to provide relief to survivors of the long war of liberation, SPOCI quickly became a tested and trusted vehicle for the compassion and generosity of hundreds of thousands. SPOCI now is a member of the National NGOs steering committee, and also the only NNGO that sits in the Monitoring and Evaluation WASH Cluster working group.

Our Board of Directors

SPOCI board of directors is the organization’s governing body, elected by the members at an annual general meeting. All members are responsible for gaining a basic understanding and initiating action in support of SPOCI’s mission, goals and programs. This includes assisting in expanding SPOCI’s outreach and increasing its visibility, collaboration with other faith based intitutions and donor support. All board members are volunteers and serve without compensation.

Our Executive Team

The board of directors appoints SPOCI’s Executive Director (chairperson), Director of Programmes (deputy chairperson), treasurer and secretary. The Executive Director in liaison with the Director of Programmes recruits the rest of the team including the Country Programme Coordinator and other senior managers in charge of finance, and administration, human resources, program, and external relations.
